ABOUT US
STEM SUPPORT MCGILL
STEM Support McGill was founded in 2017 by a group of female undergraduate students from the Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science departments. Our main goal is to provide support and opportunities for women (cis-gendered, trans-gendered, women-identified), non-binary individuals and members of other marginalized groups in STEM fields, specifically Mathematics and Mathematics related fields, since these fields tend to be heavily male dominated.
For a long time, the departments have been aware that there are relatively few women within the undergraduate honours programs, graduate programs and staff. The idea for this project arose form this, as well as from our personal experiences.
While the main focus of this group is the support of women (cis-gendered, trans-gendered, women-identified), non-binary individuals and members of other marginalized groups we wish to provide support for all individuals. Our hope is that STEM Support McGill will provide support to all students and promote a more inclusive and inviting environment for undergraduates, graduate students and staff alike.
If you are interested in joining the team, please send us an e-mail at info.mcgillstem@gmail.com. Everyone is welcome!
We would like to thank our 2017-2018 sponsors who have made this project possible:
